Cases from the clinic floor will be used to illustrate both fundamental principles and practical approaches to the recognition, diagnosis, and treatment of common liver conditions that continue to be perplexing. There are time-tested interventions and several important up and coming treatment strategies to consider adding to your arsenal when trying to help with canine hepatopathies.

Objectives

By the end of this course, learners will

  1. Learn the how to recognize the distinct impact that different liver conditions have on a fundamental diagnostic test: the chemistry panel.
  2. Learn to navigate an effective and efficient route to the diagnosis of different liver diseases of the dog.  
  3. Learn the optimal approach to the treatment of important canine liver diseases, as well as newer strategies to consider adopting in their clinical practice.
